The House
Named after a flower that doesn't need to shout.
The camellia has always stood for a quiet, patient kind of beauty. That's what we try to bring to the modern Gulf wardrobe: abayas with presence, made to be worn every day, and finished carefully enough to keep for years rather than a season.
We're based in Bahrain and we mostly work in black: clean shapes, fabric chosen for how it falls, and details kept subtle. Nothing loud. Every abaya starts with the cloth, and the cut follows from there.
The name is also a promise about how we work: nothing rushed, nothing over the top. Each Kamellia abaya is designed in Bahrain, made in small batches, and finished by hand where it matters most — the fall of a sleeve, the weight of a hem, a clean shoulder.
We keep the range small on purpose. A piece joins the collection when it's genuinely good, and it stays as long as people keep wearing it.
How a piece is made
Fabric
We choose it for how it falls before anything else — crêpe that moves, satin that catches the light.
Cut
A clean shoulder and a long line, sewn in small batches rather than by the hundred.
Finish
Hems weighted so they hang straight, and details only the wearer will notice.
Care
Made to last for years and easy to look after: a little steam, some shade, and room to hang.
